The short version

Daycell never receives your journal. There are no accounts. Your entries stay in a file on your device or in your browser’s storage on that device. The only things that ever leave your device are a licence key (if you buy Pro) and, if analytics are switched on, anonymous page counts.

Who we are

Daycell is made by an independent developer in the United Kingdom, who is the data controller for the small amount of data described here. Contact: hello@daycell.app.

Buying Pro

Analytics

If switched on, we use Umami, a cookie-free analytics tool, to count page visits and a few anonymous events (for example “a journal was created”, “Pro was activated”). It does not use cookies, does not track you across sites, and never receives your journal text, titles or tags.

Hosting

The website is hosted by Netlify, whose servers keep standard access logs (such as IP addresses) for security and reliability. Fonts are served from our own site, not from Google.

Cookies and local storage

Daycell sets no cookies on the website. The app uses your browser’s local storage and IndexedDB only to keep your journal, your settings and your licence on your device.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask what personal data we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted. In practice that means order details held by Lemon Squeezy and us. Email hello@daycell.app. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too. The version history is public in the project’s source repository.
